Personal Trainer
As a certified personal trainer, I have five years of experience leading group exercise classes and one-on-one training sessions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in Movement & Exercise Science from the University of Northern Iowa in 2021, where I also became a certified group fitness instructor for both my university and city recreation centers.
I went on to complete my master’s degree in Exercise Science at the University of Kansas, focusing my research on youth adaptations to strength training. As a graduate teaching assistant, I taught weightlifting courses for two years, emphasizing safe, progressive programming tailored to individual fitness goals. During this time, I also became certified as a personal trainer and corrective exercise specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM).
After graduate school, I joined The University of Kansas Health System’s Sports Medicine and Performance Center, where I helped clients manage chronic joint pain, recover from joint replacement surgeries, and address a range of health conditions through corrective exercise.
My goal is to instill confidence in my clients and promote sustainable fitness habits that reduce injury risk across the lifespan. I’m excited to offer one-on-one and small group training for youth, athletes, and adults at LOZ Sports Training!
